Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, including regional specialties, traditional cooking techniques, and modern plating styles. The chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing inventory, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, breads (e.g., naan, roti), and desserts.
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and portion control standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as tandoor ovens, grills, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of all food items.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory, order ingredients, and reduce waste.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as needed.
- Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate innovative ideas into the menu.
Qualifications & Skills: - Proven experience as an Indian Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
- Experience with tandoor cooking is preferred.
- Culinary diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand for long periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
