Financial Accountant

Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes, supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Virginia site in South Australia.As a valuable member of our team, this position will play a vital role in the success of our operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer you will be working in an administrative office environment. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and monthly management reports, ensuring effective comparison with budgets.
• Responsible for the development of annual budgets, including the preparation of presentations for banks, external auditors and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, maintaining compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
• Oversee the preparation of weekly KPI reports for the CFO, identifying any anomalies or areas of concern for review and discussion.
• Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax and super reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and provide support in the preparation and execution of external audits.
• Make sure appropriate documentation is maintained for tax, audit, and statutory purposes, ensuring applicable retention timelines are followed.
• Oversee AP processes and coordinate with the relevant internal teams to ensure timely payments.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Provide financial insights and reporting to support decision-making across departments as required.
• Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and enhance efficiency.
• Support the CFO in ad hoc analysis and finance projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., HR, Marketing) to deliver tailored insights.
• Regular travel to other company sites, primarily Parilla SA 5303.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisation.
• Confident working across various internal stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proactive, analytical thinker with a collaborative mindset.
