Nurse Unit Manager – Department of Emergency Medicine

Permanent Full-Time | North West Tasmania

Salary: $134,109 – $140,384 + 12% Super + Allowances

Talent Quarter is working with Tasmania Health (THS) to recruit an experienced and passionate Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Department of Emergency Medicine in beautiful North West Tasmania.

The Opportunity

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead and inspire a passionate group of healthcare professionals committed to delivering exceptional patient care during critical moments. You will play a key role in shaping emergency nursing practice while ensuring efficient department operations and the highest standards of patient safety and care quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor nursing staff across all ED shifts
  • Oversee clinical operations and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
  • Manage staffing, rostering, and resource allocation
  • Drive quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Support staff development through coaching and professional growth

About You

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Extensive experience in emergency or acute care nursing
  • Proven leadership experience within a clinical setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Desirable:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications

What’s On Offer

  • Permanent, full-time day worker position (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Salary $134,109 – $140,384 per annum
  • 12% employer superannuation (on top of salary)
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% (where applicable)
  • Generous salary packaging (up to $9,010 living expenses + $2,650 meal entertainment per FBT year)

Relocation Support

  • Up to $15,000 for eligible overseas applicants
  • Up to $10,000 for eligible interstate applicants
