Job Description:
Mental Health Senior Clinician - Swan Hill

Geneva Staffing are excited to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Mental Health Senior Clinician to join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team in Swan Hill. This is an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and experienced clinician to provide leadership in a community-focused mental health service, making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Senior Clinician, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, recovery-focused mental health services to adults aged 25-64. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading and managing clinical assessments, providing crisis intervention, and offering ongoing treatment and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This role includes a strong leadership component, where you will supervise and mentor junior staff, helping to develop the next generation of mental health professionals.

You will also have the opportunity to work closely with families, carers, and community agencies to ensure holistic and integrated care, supporting patients through all stages of their recovery. The role requires a collaborative approach, working alongside psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the intake coordination, clinical assessments, and crisis intervention for patients referred to the service
  • Provide strong clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior staff and students, fostering a positive and supportive team culture
  • Develop and implement recovery-focused treatment plans in consultation with patients, families, and carers
  • Liaise with external community agencies to ensure integrated care, rehabilitation, and support services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute discipline-specific expertise
  • Deputise for the manager when necessary and provide operational leadership within the team

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy, with postgraduate qualifications in mental health or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience working in community mental health services, with expertise in psychiatric triage, assessment, and treatment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and relevant mental health service frameworks
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

What We Offer:
  • Travel allowance for international candidates (conditions apply).
  • Ongoing training, education, and professional development opportunities.
  • Work across different services to enhance your skills and practice.
  • Supportive, multidisciplinary team with excellent supervision.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Assistance obtaining a Work or Permanent Residence Visa Sponsorship.
  • Study leave and professional development opportunities.
  • Salary packaging - use pre-tax income for expenses like car leases, childcare, or superannuation, reducing taxable income and increasing take-home pay
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Staff Immunisation Program.
  • Access to a gymnasium, hydrotherapy pool, and exercise classes.
  • Private health insurance discounts.
  • Social club discounts.
  • Smoke-free environment.
