Senior Sous Chef

Joe’s Garage Dunedin is looking for a motivated, energetic, and passionate Senior Sous Chef who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused kitchen environment.We are a proudly New Zealand-owned hospitality brand, known for great food, exceptional service, and creating memorable customer experiences. We are seeking an experienced chef who can help lead our kitchen team and maintain high standards during busy service periods.What we offer:

Senior Sous Chef Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
• Lead kitchen service during busy periods
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
• Assist with menu planning and specials development
• Manage stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in busy commercial kitchens
• Have previous experience in a senior kitchen role
• Be passionate about food and maintaining high standards under pressure
• Have strong leadership and communication skills
• Understand food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices
• Be reliable, professional, and able to work well within a team
