Company Overview BSI UK is a leasing company in the travel and tourism sector, with a portfolio spanning tour operators, travel agencies, destination management services, and hospitality ventures. BSI Lifestyle is recruiting for this role on behalf of BSI UK, as both companies are part of the same group.
Role Summary Financial Controller role involves overseeing financial strategy and operations across multiple companies. The successful candidate will ensure financial stability, implement effective controls, and provide strategic insights to navigate the unique challenges of the travel industry.
Key Responsibilities: · Oversee all financial operations and reporting for a number of companies. · Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes across the group, providing accurate financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions. · Prepare and present timely financial statements, management reports, and performance analyses to the CEO and Board. · Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations and regulatory compliance specific to the travel sector. · Oversee the finance team (7 people), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and maintaining morale during this interim period. · Ensure adherence to UK & EU financial regulations, tax obligations, and industry-specific standards, maintaining the group’s reputation for integrity. · Support strategic initiatives, such as cost optimisation or investment analysis, to drive profitability in a competitive travel market. · Oversee the audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and relevant personnel. · Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, filed, and reported in compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations. · Support the organisation by ensuring financial processes align with operational needs and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience: · 7+ years in senior financial management roles. · Previous experience as a Financial Director or similar role. · Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK/EU financial regulations, and tax law. · Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. · Leadership and team management skills. · Fluency in English and Russian (written and verbal).
Desired Skills · Knowledge of TOMS VAT, ZOHO, and XERO. · Experience in travel, tourism, or hospitality sectors. · Understanding of multi-currency operations and foreign exchange management. · Familiarity with seasonal business cycles and travel industry compliance. · Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
