Kinexus is a specialist recruiter into the Defence and Federal government space. We have been recruiting technical engineering and ICT staff in Australia for a long time! In fact we have recently celebrated our 25 year anniversary. In this time we've helped recruit a lot of people who have influenced several Australian Defence projects.

Given our background in Defence Kinexus are in a unique position to provide people for projects at clients all over Australia. The Defence market is undergoing a transitional period which has presented opportunity and challenges alike.

We are looking to add the services of a Recruitment Consultant to our experienced team in our Melbourne office.

You'll begin in a candidate-focused recruitment role, giving you the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the industry, our clients, and the specialist sector you will recruit within. As your knowledge, confidence, and capability grow, you'll transition into a full 360 Recruitment Consultant role, taking ownership of your own desk and building lasting client and candidate relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious and eager to develop a long-term career in recruitment. Success in this role requires a high level of tenacity, a strong sense of urgency, and the drive to consistently deliver results. As you progress, you'll play an active role in business development, identifying new opportunities, winning new clients, and growing your own portfolio.

The Role Will Include

• Identifying talent across Defence, Engineering and ICT
• Source candidates nationally for a broad range of Defence, ICT and Engineering projects.
• Developing a network of ex ADF / Defence people
• Identifying opportunities to connect with Security cleared technical and engineering professionals across Australia
• Developing talent pools
• Building a strong social presence

Skills And Experience Required

• Previous experience in recruitment, proactive sales, business development or cold calling
• A passion for all things technical
• A confident communicator with the ability to build rapport and influence others
• Resilience, tenacity, and a strong work ethic
• Confidence in initiating conversations and developing new client relationships through outbound activity
• Comfortable working towards targets and KPIs in a results-driven environment
• An understanding of the recruitment process
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a drive to achieve results
• Ability to learn quickly and develop expertise in a specialist industry
• A team player who enjoys collaborating while taking ownership of their own success
