Duties require prior experience with grain elevator operations and include unloading grain from trucks, directing grain into appropriate bins or storage areas, and operating equipment such as augers, conveyors, and bin sweeps. Workers must monitor grain flow for proper intake and manage equipment to ensure efficient movement and storage. Tasks also involve cleaning grain pits, sweeping and shoveling grain spillage, and maintaining clean, hazard-free work areas. Additional responsibilities include loading grain for outbound shipment, collecting and testing grain samples, checking moisture levels, and recording weights and quality data accurately. Workers will assist with routine maintenance and general facility upkeep. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, and a solid understanding of safe handling practices for agricultural products. Experience is essential to operate equipment efficiently, identify and respond to grain quality issues, and maintain workflow during peak season. This temporary position addresses seasonal labor needs during the harvest and post-harvest period from April through December, when crop intake and storage activities exceed the capacity of the year-round workforce.
