- Full-time appointment on a tenurable basis.
- Base salary range: Level B, $118,150 – $139,812 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the SchoolThe School of Earth and Oceans is home to globally recognised educators and researchers advancing both fundamental and applied science in Earth and Ocean Sciences and Ocean Engineering. With Western Australia’s rich mineral, energy, groundwater, and coastal resources, the School leads research in scientific discovery, engineering innovation, and sustainable resource management. Key strengths include Archean–Proterozoic geology, mineral exploration, hydrogeology, geodata analytics, basin analysis, coastal processes, physical oceanography, offshore renewable engineering, and Antarctic geoscience.
About the opportunity - Contribute to high-quality teaching and research in earth science with the capacity to enhance the School’s cross-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary activities.
- Deliver important Level 1 coursework as well as other undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in areas of research expertise.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including government, industry and the broader community in Western Australia.
About you - PhD in Earth Science relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative teaching including online and field-based teaching to support excellent student experiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices and demonstrated excellent scientific communication and organisational skills.
- A strong track record of high-quality earth science research relative to opportunity that will enhance the School’s cross-disciplinary or inter-disciplinary geoscience research (e.g. geochemical, geophysical, geobiological, geodata or environmental/marine geoscience applications) with evidence of potential to generate and grow an externally funded innovative research program from diverse funding sources, including government grants and industry.
- Ability and willingness to mentor and supervise students, and work collaboratively within a team and deliver timely outputs and outcomes.
