To be eligible for this position you must be PGY7+. Salary and conditions of service are in accordance with the current ACT Public Sector Medical Practitioners Union Collective Agreement. Medical Staff in the Canberra Health Services enjoy excellent conditions, and our Enterprise Agreement is available at: ACTPS Medical Practitioners Enterprise Agreement 2023 - 2026 The Centenary Hospital for Women and Children is the level 6 tertiary referral centre for the ACT and surrounding region with over 3700 births. It has a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with a regional role extending throughout southern NSW and over 200 level 3 admissions each year. It is the only tertiary care perinatal unit between Sydney and Melbourne and thus has a busy Maternal Fetal Medicine Department. The Maternal Fetal Medicine Department provides MFM subspecialty patient care with consultations, diagnostic services, invasive procedures, counselling, and multidisciplinary management of high-risk pregnancies and assessment and management of pregnancies complicated by fetal anomalies This team includes MFM consultants, trainees, sonographers, midwives, genetic counsellors and administrative team members and works closely with specialists in Obstetrics, Neonatology, Clinical Genetics, Anaesthetics, Medicine and Paediatric Surgery. The MFM Department at CHS has a large catchment with a large volume of pathology. A wide range of specialised Obstetric clinics are offered, including maternal medicine/high risk pregnancy clinics, placental mediated disease, preterm birth clinic, preconception counselling clinic, combined obstetric anaesthetics clinic and perinatal loss clinics. There are daily fetal medicine clinics with a high exposure to pathology and diagnostic procedures. This position also has access to all the relevant multidisciplinary areas of MFM training such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Adult ICU, Pathology Department, Emergency Department, Operating theatre and Genetics clinics. The successful applicant would contribute to the after hours O&G roster and be rostered to regular birth suite shifts to maintain their obstetrics skills and facilitate completion of appropriate ATMs if needed (i.e. Advanced Obstetrics ATM). This position will be an Unaccredited Senior Registrar in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Prior to commencement, the successful candidates will be required to:
  • Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check
  • Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy
