Horse Trainer Widden Stud Australia located in the Hunter Valley, NSW and also in Riddells Creek, Victoria currently accepting applicants full-time for the role of Horse Trainer/Breeding and Horse Trainer/Yearlings. The roles are full time, and the successful applicant will work with either stallions, broodmares, foals, young stock and/or yearlings. We are looking for a motivated, determined & experienced individual who has professional horse stud experience. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry. Horse Trainer/BreedingDuties will include:
Horse Trainer/Breeding - YearlingsDuties will include:o Training and preparing horses for major saleso Educating horses to be groomed and accept bridle, head collar, rug etc.o Teaching horses to walk, stand and parade correctlyo Parade and caring for horses at saleso Overseeing daily care and supervision of horseso Re-educating horses to resolve problems such as biting and kicking The salary will be above award – in the range of $70,000 to $82,500 per annum depending upon the skill set and level of responsibility. Accommodation maybe offered on the farm. Essential Skills:All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role or a relevant qualification and at least 2 years full time professional experience in the role.
