About the RoleApplix is hiring an Electrical Wiring Harness Engineer for our engineering team.In this role, you will work on electrical wiring harness design, 3D harness modeling, 2D detailing, schematics, BOM creation, engineering documentation, and release support for heavy equipment, engines, gensets, off-highway equipment, or industrial machinery programs.
This role requires strong hands-on experience with Creo Parametric, Creo Schematics, Creo Cabling / Harness, and Teamcenter PLM. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with global engineering teams and supporting US-based customers through clear communication, disciplined reporting, and strong ownership of deliverables.
Prior Caterpillar experience is mandatory.
What You’ll Do
  • Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses for machinery, engine, genset, off-highway equipment, or industrial product applications.
  • Create and update harness schematics, wiring diagrams, connector tables, circuit details, and related electrical documentation.
  • Perform 3D harness routing, packaging, clipping, branching, flattening, and drawing creation using Creo tools.
  • Prepare detailed 2D harness drawings with connector views, bundle details, wire callouts, protective coverings, clips, clamps, and installation requirements.
  • Work with engineering teams to define harness architecture, routing feasibility, connector selection, wire gauge, protection, shielding, grounding, and mounting strategy.
  • Create and maintain BOMs, part structures, design documents, and engineering releases in Teamcenter PLM.
  • Support engineering change requests, design revisions, drawing updates, and release workflows.
  • Participate in design reviews, cross-functional reviews, manufacturability reviews, and quality improvement actions.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer engineering teams.
  • Support NPI, CPI, engineering maintenance, and production issue resolution activities.
  • Identify technical issues in design, manufacturing, or testing and support practical resolution.
  • Prepare clear status reports, action trackers, design summaries, and customer-facing updates.


Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience in electrical wiring harness design and development.
  • Strong experience with Creo harness modeling, Creo Cabling, Creo Schematics, and 2D detailing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Teamcenter PLM, including part structure, BOM, document control, and engineering change workflows.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and installation drawings.
  • Good understanding of harness routing, packaging, bundle sizing, connector selection, clips, clamps, brackets, coverings, shielding, grounding, and protection requirements.
  • Experience in BOM creation, drawing release, revision control, and engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of NPI, engineering change management, product support, and release processes.
  • Ability to work with global teams and manage deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, coordination, and follow-through skills.


Mandatory Experience
  • Minimum 1–2 years of prior Caterpillar experience is mandatory.
  • Prior experience working on Caterpillar engineering processes, standards, product programs, or Teamcenter workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in off-highway equipment, heavy machinery, engines, gensets, construction equipment, mining equipment, or industrial products is preferred.

EducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following areas:

  • Related engineering discipline


Working Expectations
  • Work from office 5 days a week.
  • Be flexible to overlap with US customer working hours when required.

Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate has strong hands-on wiring harness design experience, is highly skilled in Creo-based modeling and detailing, understands Teamcenter release processes, and has already worked in a Caterpillar engineering environment.
This person should be technically strong, dependable, clear in communication, and comfortable supporting US customers.
