Pixel Burn Custom Laser Creations is an Australian personalised gifts company specialising in custom laser-engraved products for weddings, special occasions and everyday gifting.We create a wide range of personalised items, including glassware, tumblers, whisky glasses, plaques, keychains, keepsakes, wedding gifts, memorial pieces and custom engraved products. Every item we produce is made to order, with designs created specifically for each customer.
Due to increasing order volume, we are looking for a reliable Remote Production Designer to assist with preparing engraving files from customer orders. This is a long-term opportunity to assist with preparing engraving files with consistent work available and an immediate start.
About the Role When customers place orders through our website, they provide personalisation details such as names, dates, messages, logos or images. Your role will be to convert these instructions into clean, engraving-ready design files that our production team can immediately use on our laser machines.
This is not general marketing or branding design work. The focus of this role is preparing practical production artwork suitable for laser engraving.
Key Responsibilities - Convert customer personalisation requests into engraving-ready artwork
- Prepare files in vector format suitable for laser engraving machines
- Clean up or recreate customer-supplied images, logos or artwork when required
- Layout names, dates and messages so they fit correctly on each product
- Convert artwork into engraving-ready vector designs where required
Some customers request design proofs before engraving. When this happens, you will also:
- Create a simple mock-up image showing how the engraving will appear on the product
- Recreate or approximate a product image similar to the item ordered
Ensure the preview accurately represents the final engraving layout
Important Notes Most of our products are made to order, and every design is different. Customers sometimes provide minimal instructions, screenshots or unclear images. You must be comfortable interpreting the information provided and producing a clean layout without constant direction.
If customer instructions are unclear or additional details are required, you should flag the order so our team can contact the customer for clarification.Your role is to work with the information provided and turn it into a clean engraving layout wherever possible.
File Requirements All production artwork must be delivered in vector format suitable for laser engraving.Accepted formats include:

Required Skills - Strong experience using Adobe Illustrator or similar vector design software
- Ability to create clean vector artwork suitable for production
- Strong typography and layout skills
- Ability to convert images or logos into usable engraving artwork
- Strong attention to detail
Experience preparing artwork for laser engraving or CNC machines is highly preferred but not required.

Payment & Contractor Arrangement This role is offered as an independent contractor position and is paid at $30–$45 AUD per hour, depending on experience and skill level. Applicants located in Australia must have an active ABN and be able to invoice for their hours worked. Payment is processed weekly based on submitted invoices. Although this is a contractor role, we aim to build a long-term working relationship and may offer support such as partial reimbursement for required design software where appropriate.
