Operations Officer (Student Casework)

We are seeking an Operations Officer to join our Student Casework Team and play a key role in ensuring students receive timely, professional and supportive casework experiences.

About The Role

The Student Policy & Safeguarding Unit oversees policies which are in place to keep students safe. Our work promotes a safe, inclusive environment where students thrive. As part of the wider Student Support and Safeguarding department, the Unit includes teams responsible for student casework in areas such as HWSS (Health, Wellbeing, Support for Study), Student Conduct, Student Complaints etc.

The role will support the Casework Managers in the delivery of operational activities across Student Casework processes, providing high-quality administrative and operational support across processes such as Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study, Fitness to Practise, Precautionary Measures and Student Complaints. You will be the first point of contact for students, staff and external parties, ensuring efficient case progression, accurate record-keeping and professional and compassionate communication.

About You

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
  • be an organised, proactive and compassionate administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, adept at applying policies and procedures to ensure regulatory and framework compliance, contributing to process improvement and efficiency.
  • provide high quality operational and administrative support across a range of Student Casework processes, carefully handling sensitive information with discretion and ensuring sensitive and accurate communication.
  • confidently manage busy inboxes, triage urgent or risk related correspondence, maintain secure and accurate case records, schedule and organise meetings, prepare documentation, and provide clear procedural guidance to decision makers.
  • bring strong organisational and advanced IT skills, excellent written and verbal communication, resilience, accuracy and the ability to work with empathy and professionalism — particularly when supporting staff and students who are experiencing difficult situations.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to students’ experiences while contributing to a supportive and dedicated team.
