About the Program The STEAM Educator Program places qualified international teachers to Alabama’s accredited K-12 schools. • Teach core and STEAM subjects aligned with U.S. curriculum standards.
• Engage diverse learners by adapting lessons and providing individualized or small-group instruction.
• Create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive classroom where every student feels valued.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
• Collaborate with U.S. teachers, administrators, and parents.
• Celebrate multicultural learning and demonstrate respectful, nondiscriminatory practices every day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a College of Education.
• Valid teaching certificate from home country (ALIEEP assists with Alabama certification conversion).
• Minimum of 2 years full-time teaching experience.
• Willingness to meet U.S. state and federal requirements (e.g., testing, background checks).

Potential Job Placement

• Mathematics: Statistics, Geometry, Trigonometry, or Algebra 2
• Science: Chemistry, Physics, or Biology
• Foreign Language: Spanish, Korean, or Chinese
