Ref Number B02-08952 Professional Expertise Research and Research Support Department School of Life & Medical Sciences (B02) Location London Working Pattern Full time Salary £43,374 £51,860 Contract Type Fixed-term Working Type Hybrid Available for Secondment No Closing Date 30-Sep-2025 About us The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is headed by Professors Kate Walters and Greta Rait. The department’s strategic aim is to deliver high-quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public. About the role Applications are invited for a (non-clinical) research fellow in health economics to join a large number of health economics researchers at UCL and its partner institutions. The post will join the Health Economics Analysis and Research methods Team (HEART) in the Institute for Clinical Trials and Methodology (ICTM) at UCL, working primarily with Priment Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). The role focuses on undertaking trial-based health economic evaluations and decision modelling with colleagues in Priment CTU and its partner institutions; contributing to proposals for health economic analyses to new grant applications for external research funding; collaborating with colleagues at UCL and its partner institutions; maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge in the area and publishing health economics research papers in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.   • This is a Fixed-Term Appointment with External Funding until 31-Dec-2026 in the first instance.

About you The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in a subject with large quantitative component, or equivalent relevant research experience (a PhD is not mandatory). They will have experience using health economic research methods and conducting successful research in this area. They will have knowledge and experience of developing and conducting economic evaluations using trial data and/or decision analytic modelling, using statistical and programming packages such as Stata, R or Python, as well as excellent knowledge of Excel. They will have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and be able to manage their time and work to deadlines on competing priorities.
