Job Description:
Applied Research Engineer (Computer Vision & Media)
Mor Search is proud to be acting on behalf of our client, a pioneering AI research lab based in San Francisco, to find a talented Applied Research Engineer.
Our client is the only research lab exclusively dedicated to video data, building the infrastructure and datasets that push the frontier of video modeling. Having recently raised a Series A from Tier 1 firms and operating with a high-impact team of just 12 people, they are solving the biggest bottleneck in AI: high-quality training data for the medium that makes up 80% of internet traffic.
The Role
In this role, you will develop high-performance building blocks and large-scale pipelines to understand video with high precision at internet scale. You won't just be training models; you will be solving ambiguous research problems across computer vision, audio, and text processing domains.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize Performance: Squeeze every drop of performance out of models and APIs through clever pre/post-processing, parallelism, and inference optimization.
  • End-to-End Development: Break down complex problems from customer-level impact into necessary technical building blocks.
  • Scalable Engineering: Build maintainable pipelines capable of handling exabyte-scale video infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in Computer Vision or Audio Processing.
  • Technical Stack: Strong Python development skills with deep experience in PyTorch or similar ML frameworks.
  • Mindset: A deep passion for video and media technologies, motivated by building products rather than just training models.
  • Communication: Excellent skills for collaborating with customers and external teams.
  • Bonus Points: Active GitHub/Open Source contributions or experience as an early startup hire.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $130,000 – $300,000 per year.
  • Equity: Competitive compensation package including equity.
  • Perks: Comprehensive health insurance, plus free lunch and dinner at the office.
  • Location: This is an in-person role at the San Francisco HQ.

  • Visa Support: Sponsorship available for H-1B, O-1, and OPT holders.
