Social Care Worker Ireland

Location: Ireland - various locations

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About The Role

We are seeking passionate and qualified Social Care Workers to join residential and community-based care services across Ireland. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in people’s lives by supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, or challenging behaviours in a person-centred, empowering environment.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote independence, inclusion, and dignity, providing both practical and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to service users in line with individual care plans
  • Assist in developing life skills, social skills, and community integration
  • Promote independence, participation, and positive behaviour management
  • Liaise with families, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary reviews
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and safeguarding procedures
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training

Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Social Care (minimum Level 7) or a closely related field (Applied Social Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Disability Studies, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a social care, residential, or community setting (1+ year preferred)
  • Fluent English (written & spoken)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate and professional approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
  • EU citizenship or valid work permit for Ireland (strict requirement)

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: 36,000 - 45,000 (depending on experience and location)
