Upholsterer (UK Visa sponsorship)

Full job descriptionOur client are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the position of Upholsterer. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholstering, repairing, restoring, and manufacturing furniture and soft furnishings to a high standard. This role requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of fabrics, leather, foam, and upholstery materials.Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, sew, and fit upholstery materials accurately.
• Remove and replace worn fabric, padding, springs, and webbing.
• Repair furniture frames and prepare items for upholstery.
• Install fabric, leather, vinyl, and other coverings using hand and power tools.
• Match patterns, seams, and finishes to achieve a high-quality appearance.
• Operate upholstery machinery, sewing machines, staple guns, and hand tools safely.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous upholstery experience in commercial upholstery preferred.
• Ability to use upholstery tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of upholstery materials, fabrics, foam, and finishing techniques.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read measurements and follow specifications.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
