Senior C++ Engineer (Critical Engineering) - Sydney- Global Prop Trading Firm

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the APAC head office of a tech-focused market-maker with groundbreaking success in the high frequency trading space. Now looking to hire exceptional C++ engineers to join the platform group responsible for building and operating the systems that underpin the entire trading stack.

This hands-on role offers full ownership of the systems you design - from architectural choices through delivery to production support - spanning real-time risk controls, reference data, trade-lifecycle infrastructure and trading-integrity systems. As such, this will involve working closely with cross-functional teams in order to understand business problems and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions.

Requirements:

• 5+ years' professional experience in developing production-grade systems
• Outstanding C++ programming skills
• Strong understanding of CompSci fundamentals: operating systems, data structures, algorithms & networking
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix and knowledge of one or more scripting languages, e.g. Python
• Full SDLC experience: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment & ongoing operation
• Solid track record of developing & shipping solutions for challenging technical problems

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of distributed systems patterns, observability tooling and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience building real-time, low-latency or high-throughput systems
• Familiarity with relational databases or modern data stacks
