Trinity College Dublin- an introduction Post Summary: The School seeks a scholar with a PhD and a strong research background in Postcolonial and Global Literatures. We invite applications from scholars working across any combination of periods, regions, genres, forms, and media, but we especially encourage applicants with training and expertise in literatures of the Americas. This is a major area of research and teaching for the School. In addition to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the School’s culture of postgraduate research and supervision in this area. Main Responsibilities Teaching: The successful candidate will

  • Offer two advanced option courses in the School of English,


  • Contribute to teaching of two Fresher modules, Postcolonialism, and U.S. American Identities,


  • Supervise research students


  • Contribute where appropriate to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the School and participate in the shaping of the curriculum. Teaching formats include lectures, seminars and tutorials. All members of the School are expected to undertake appropriate administrative duties.


Standard Duties

  • Proven publication record and potential for substantial publication record in medium term


  • Demonstrable excellence in undergraduate teaching


  • Experience of postgraduate teaching


  • Potential for building and development of the subject area


Person Requirements Qualifications

  • PhD and a strong research background in Postcolonial and Global Literatures.
