Consultant Intensivist | CICM Gen12, Rural & AP Accredited | Regional Queensland
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major regional referral Intensive Care Unit in Queensland and are keen to connect with FCICM-qualified Intensivists interested in a full-time role offering clinical breadth, recognised training involvement and long-term stability.
The ICU supports a large and diverse regional catchment, managing complex medical and surgical critical care alongside peri-operative and trauma presentations. Consultants are actively involved in supervision within a CICM-accredited unit.
This role will appeal to Intensivists seeking meaningful regional practice with structured governance and subspecialty exposure.
The Hospital & ICU
This is a 305-bed regional referral hospital serving as the principal acute care centre for Central Queensland.

- Mixed medical–surgical ICU capability
- Advanced ventilatory and organ support
- Trauma stabilisation
- Close integration with Emergency and Anaesthetics
- Peri-operative critical care
- Occasional paediatric critical care support
The unit is CICM accredited for:
- General Training (Gen12)
- Rural
- Advanced Paediatrics (AP 12 months)
This accreditation reflects strong consultant supervision, governance and recognised training standards.

- Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM) or equivalent
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by CICM as partially or substantially comparable
