Job Description:
We are looking for energetic and reliable Fast Food Cooks to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene practices. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and is passionate about delivering quality meals and quick service. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation and Cooking
  • Prepare and cook menu items such as burgers, fries, and other fast-food products according to company recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate grills, fryers, and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare ingredients, sauces, and condiments in advance to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
  • Assemble and package meals accurately, ensuring correct portion sizes and presentation.

Customer Service and Order Handling
  • Take customer orders when required and ensure timely and accurate meal preparation.
  • Support front-of-house team members to maintain fast service and excellent customer satisfaction.

Hygiene, Safety, and Cleaning
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, including food preparation surfaces, cooking equipment, and storage areas.
  • Adhere strictly to food-safety standards, temperature controls, and waste-management guidelines.
  • Follow closing procedures, daily cleaning schedules, and assist in general kitchen organisation.

Stock and Supplies
  • Receive and check deliveries, ensuring the quality and freshness of ingredients.
  • Rotate and store food items correctly to minimise waste and maintain hygiene.
  • Report shortages or quality concerns to the supervisor or manager promptly.

Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 1 year or more of experience in a commercial kitchen, café, or fast-food environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food-safety and hygiene regulations (NZQA Unit Standards or equivalent preferred).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team-based setting.
  • Good communication and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
