Senior Lecturer / Reader

About The Role

The Department of Psychology is recruiting a Senior Lecturer or Reader (depending on experience) to join the DClinPsy programme.

This successful candidate will take on the leadership role of Academic Director as well as provide research supervision and be a clinical tutor to the students on the programme.

This is a leadership role, reporting to the Co-Programme Directors and will involve:
  • responsible for timetabling and academic assessments on the DClinPsy Programme.
  • liaising with external stakeholders such as NHS England and the BPS.
  • overseeing cohort of students and progression through clinical psychology training.
  • contributing to specialist and general teaching topics as relevant to postholder’s expertise on postgraduate clinical psychology programmes.
  • supervising doctoral student research.
  • Acting as clinical tutor to a number of trainees.
  • Guiding and support internal and external teaching staff and markers.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • provide a supportive teaching culture to the programme and wider department.
  • will contribute significantly to the DClinPsy Programme as Academic Director and therefore will have relevant experience in management or leadership roles.
  • be committed to delivering high quality doctoral student research supervision.

Additional Information

This role is offered on a part-time (0.8FTE), open-ended basis.

The successful candidate will be appointed as either Senior Lecturer or Reader, depending on experience.
