Global Head of Solutions EngineeringLocation: New York, NY (East Coast preferred)Work model: Hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)Salary: $240K–$280K + performance bonus + profit share
We're hiring a Global Head of Solutions Engineering at a well-capitalised, PE-backed AI software company serving some of the world's largest enterprises and government institutions. With a billion-dollar valuation and a rapidly accelerating go-to-market motion, this is a rare opportunity to own and unify a global pre-sales function at a company with real scale and a clear path to a significant outcome.
This isn't a maintenance role. The pre-sales org has historically been split between government and commercial — you'd be the first person to unify both under a single global leadership structure and build it into something world-class.
The problem you'd help solve: The company's SE function has grown fast across two distinct markets — U.S. Federal/Defense and commercial enterprise — but has operated as separate teams. As the business accelerates post-PE investment, it needs a single leader who can unify those teams, drive a consistent technical GTM strategy, and recruit aggressively to keep pace with a rapidly growing pipeline.
You'd own that problem end to end — from demos and POVs to solution architecture, competitive positioning, and team building across both government and commercial verticals globally.
You'll likely be a fit if you have:- 15+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or pre-sales, with at least 8 years in managerial roles
- Proven global leadership experience covering both U.S. Federal/Defense and commercial enterprise markets
- Deep expertise across the full pre-sales motion: demos, POVs, solution architecture, competitive positioning, and value engineering for complex multi-stakeholder deals
- Experience scaling a global SE org during hyper-growth — you've built, not just inherited
- 2–3+ years of direct global coverage including EMEA or UK
- Technical depth in modern enterprise software architecture, cloud, AI platforms, APIs, data integration, and complex SaaS solution design
- A track record of recruiting and developing pre-sales talent at scale
Nice to have:- Background at an enterprise B2B SaaS company in a regulated or compliance-driven industry
- Experience integrating acquired teams or orgs post-M&A
- Bachelor's in CS, Engineering, or Information Systems; MBA or MS preferred
What you won't find here:This role won't suit pure ICs making their first move into leadership, or consulting-heavy profiles without direct SaaS SE leadership tenure. You need to have lived the build — not just managed a mature, inherited team.
The package:- $240K–$280K base salary plus performance bonus
- ESO / profit share opportunities
- Hybrid — 2 days in office, 3 days remote
- Monthly international travel across Europe and the Americas
- Visa transfers supported (OPT, H-1B)
