Junior Sommelier

Tamarind continues to explore new ground with dishes to be enjoyed any time of day, served in delicately floral surroundings in Mayfair. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• WSET Level 2 certification or above or equivalent.
• Prior sommelier or wine service experience of 2 years in a 5-star hotel or Michelin-starred restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals and vintages, and confident in food & wine pairing.
• Familiarity with wine cellar management, inventory tracking/management, and responsible alcohol service.
• Fluent spoken and written English, with excellent guest-facing communication skills.
• Exceptionally well-organized with outstanding attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
• A team player with the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment with the flexibility to work at the other 2 sister restaurants.

• Guide guests through wine lists, offering expert pairing recommendations.
• Manage stock, update the wine list and stock list, rotation, purchasing, and cellar organisation.
• Support marketing efforts and sales by promoting seasonal offers and special wine pairing experiences.
• Support the development and maintenance of an excellent wine programme.
• Work with chefs to create seasonal and tasting menu pairings.
• Ensure all wines are served at the correct temperature and within proper glassware.
