Harvesting Tobacco; Settling Tobacco, Topping Tobacco, Suckers Tobacco, Barning, Backing, Cleaning Tobacco, Harvesting Tobacco, and putting Tobacco in Barns. Topping will enable the plant to produce good quality and heavy-bodied, darker tobacco leaf that matures more uniformly. Workers will also be harvesting by hand, pulling weeds, raking, packing, cleaning up rows where plantings are, driving buses, and performing equipment operations on the farm. The job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather. Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Able to lift and carry 75 pounds repetitively throughout the workday. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodation. The use, possession, or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during working time is prohibited. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol testing at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Requires 1 month of verifiable work experience in manual harvesting. The estimated hourly rate is $12.78/hr. guaranteed for “U.S. workers (A1)”, and the estimated hourly rate is $11.09/hr. guaranteed for “H-2A workers (B1)”. Guarantee 35 hours a week. 1st-week warranty. Will provide daily transportation round trips to and from housing to the work-site location, at no cost to the workers. Housing is provided at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return their residency daily. The employer provides the tools at no cost to workers. 3/4 scheduled working hours guaranteed. Transport/subsistence reimbursed for the costs incurred by reporting to the workplace if the worker completes half the period of employment.
