MinStaff Survey is a Consulting Surveying firm that has operated since 1995 to provide specialist services to the mining, construction and development industries and has established an enviable reputation for delivering efficient and high-quality services. MinStaff Survey covers mining, cadastral and engineering services to commercial and residential clients and provides full survey teams for major project developments. Role: Our Company is requiring full-time, skilled surveyors to assistant the company in completion of field and office survey tasks as directed by Project Surveyor/Senior Surveyor/ Survey Manager relative to pre-design, civil, construction and mining survey tasks. We are seeking an individual who meets the following criteria: Essential CriteriaHolds a relevant Bachelors Degree or Higher Degree in Surveying, Technology (Spatial Science) or Science (Geomatic Engineering) or Geometric Engineering; OR has at least five (5) years relevant work experience
Drivers License
Computer literacy with sound Word and Excel processing skills
Basic competency with Survey software (upload, processing etc.)
Good working knowledge of Leica/Trimble Total Station, RTK GNSS, GPS based survey system, and Surpac and/or Vulcan Software
Ability to perform field works independently without direct supervision (connect to existing control, detail pickup, as-constructed and setout works)
Neat and tidy presentation
Ability to liaise with clients, contractors and co-workers on survey related issues
Ability to liaise with supervisors at all levels
Understanding of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety principles
Ability to understand and adhere to continuous professional development principles
Ability to work on multiple activities and projects
The ability to represent the company to a high standard at all times
Understanding of the current survey legislation
Eligible for registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland/BOSSI
Desirable Criteria Awareness of remote area work requirements and issues
Thorough understanding of modern Health and Safety Management methods
Time Management and planning skills
Holds a Current First Aid certificate
4wd Vehicle Training
Holds a RePL Certificate (Multirotor and Fixed Wing)
Registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) or equivalent
OH&S Construction Induction Card
DTMR Working in Proximity to Traffic Training
Tasks involved include, but are not limited too: Conduct field surveys using advanced surveying equipment (total stations, GPS receivers, drones and laser scanners) and techniques to provide geospatial advice of natural and manmade landmarks
Collect, process, and analyse survey data, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Use surveying software and data processing tools (12d, AutoCAD, GIS, TBC, 3d Office etc.).
Interpreting, preparing, editing and revising plans, maps, charts and drawings
Perform routine computations and plotting preliminary data
Preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications
Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project requirements and objectives
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams including architects and engineers
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Monitor project progress, budget, and timelines
Assist in the development and implementation of surveying methodologies and strategies
Researching new applications for adoption throughout the company
Supervise and coordinate the work of survey technicians directly under your guidance
Assist Survey Managers, Senior Surveyors and Project Surveyors in planning and organisation
