Position Overview:We are seeking passionate and dedicated Disability Support Officers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. Whether it's assistance with daily living, supporting social inclusion, or helping clients access services, your role will be critical in making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualised support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plans.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Foster social connections and promote community participation for clients.
- Support clients in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients.
- Ensure documentation is up to date, including progress notes and care plans.
- Collaborate with other team members, families, and external agencies to provide holistic care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional boundaries.
- Assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services.
Qualifications and Skills:- Previous experience in disability support or a related field is preferred.
- A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a relevant qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to improving the lives of others.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transport (preferred).
