They work under the supervision of medical laboratory scientists and pathologists. Job Description Typical duties include:Collecting blood and other patient samplesLabeling and handling specimens correctlyPreparing slides and samples for testingPerforming laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and body fluidsTesting for bacteria, infections, and diseasesMatching blood for transfusionsOperating and maintaining laboratory equipmentRecording and reporting test resultsFollowing laboratory safety and quality-control proceduresProviding reassurance and care to patients during sample collectionPay: $6,000.00 – $8,170.00 per monthBenefits:
