Care Home & Village Manager - Hodgson House Lifecare & Village About the Role Hodgson House Lifecare & Village is seeking an experienced and compassionate Care Home & Village Manager to provide strong operational, clinical, and strategic leadership across the facility. This senior role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining regulatory compliance and financial sustainability. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations of the care home and retirement village. Ensure smooth delivery of rest home, hospital, and dementia care services. Maintain compliance with New Zealand aged-care regulations and audit requirements. Monitor facility performance, safety, and quality standards. Clinical & Resident Care Oversight Work closely with clinical and nursing teams to ensure quality care delivery. Oversee resident wellbeing, clinical outcomes, and care planning. Support complex care services including dementia, palliative, and high-care needs. Monitor and respond to incidents, risks, and quality indicators. Staff Leadership & Workforce Management Lead, mentor, and support clinical, caregiving, and support staff. Oversee recruitment, training, rostering, and performance management. Foster a positive, supportive, and resident-focused workplace culture. Financial & Business Management Manage operational budgets and financial performance. Monitor occupancy rates and service delivery KPIs. Ensure efficient and sustainable facility operations. Report on financial and operational performance outcomes. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) standards. Prepare for audits, certification, and regulatory inspections. Maintain health, safety, and infection control systems. Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives. Family & Stakeholder Engagement Communicate effectively with residents and families. Address concerns, complaints, and feedback professionally. Build strong relationships with healthcare providers and community stakeholders. Represent the facility within the aged-care sector. About You Registered Nurse (often preferred or required in NZ aged-care leadership roles). Experience in aged care, healthcare management, or clinical leadership. Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills. Knowledge of NZ healthcare regulations and aged-care standards. Strong financial and operational management capability. Desirable Previous experience as a Clinical Manager, Unit Manager, or Facility Manager. Postgraduate qualification in healthcare management or nursing.
