Test & Verification Engineer (Staff) - Cork, Ireland

Company: QT Technologies Ireland Limited Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: About The Role We are looking for an experienced Test & Verification Engineer to help deliver the future of AI on DSPs. Our team builds and maintains the test, verification, and automation infrastructure that enables Qualcomm’s ML and systems teams to deliver high‑quality products to customers at scale. We operate large‑scale automated test environments backed by CI/CD systems (400,000+ tasks per day), embedded device farms, and developer productivity tooling. A key focus of this role is leveraging Python‑based automation, scalable system design, and modern AI/LLM integrations to improve verification efficiency and developer velocity, while understanding system‑level constraints. Our team focuses on test automation, system verification, CI/CD infrastructure, and the intelligent use of tooling to continuously improve reliability, scale, and productivity. This position is based in our Cork office - onsite 5 days per week. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test and verification frameworks for large‑scale software systems.

• Develop and optimize Python‑based test automation used across CI/CD pipelines and device farms.

• As required, support and extend Jenkins infrastructure, including test orchestration, job configuration, plugin management, and performance tuning.

• Apply system design principles to evaluate scalability, reliability, and performance constraints in test and verification pipelines.

• Leverage LLM‑based tools and integrations to improve developer and verification productivity, with demonstrated examples of practical impact.

• Monitor and troubleshoot test infrastructure and CI systems, ensuring high availability and rapid diagnosis of complex failures.

• Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to support growing test workloads and evolving verification requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is preferable.

• 7-10+ years of experience in Test Automation, Verification Engineering, or closely related roles.

• Solid domain expertise in test automation, verification , tooling, and infrastructure development.

• Demonstrated experience integrating or leveraging LLM‑based tools to improve developer productivity and test efficiency.

• Proven experience designing and operating scalable test or CI/CD systems, with the ability to reason about system‑level trade‑offs and constraints.

• Hands‑on experience with Jenkins‑based CI/CD pipelines and modern automation workflows.

• Strong debugging skills with the ability to clearly articulate past examples of diagnosing complex system, test, or infrastructure issues.

• Linux system skills and familiarity with tools such as Docker, Git, and networked storage.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively within a cross‑functional, multi‑site team.
