About the RoleWe are looking for compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our care team. In this role, you will work alongside Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, person-centred care for elderly residents. You will support residents with their daily activities while helping them maintain their independence, comfort, and quality of life in a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
  • Support residents with mobility, transfers, walking, and the safe use of mobility equipment.
  • Assist with meals, feeding, hydration, and monitor residents' nutritional wellbeing.
  • Observe residents' physical and emotional wellbeing and promptly report any changes to the Registered Nurse.
  • Follow individualised care plans and accurately document care provided.
  • Encourage and support residents to participate in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident rooms and shared living areas.
  • Follow infection prevention, health and safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
  • Build respectful and positive relationships with residents, their families, and fellow team members.
  • Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and the wider healthcare team to deliver quality care.
  • Maintain residents' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other caregiving duties as required during rostered shifts.

What We're Looking For
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2–4) or an equivalent caregiving qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or healthcare is an advantage but not essential, as training may be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to caring for older adults.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks safely.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
