Job Description:We’re hiring experienced Team Drivers to join Black River Logistics Ltd.
- Minimum 6- 10 months of driving experience in North America; MUST currently reside in Canada.
- Reliable drivers to transport goods across Canada and the USA, ensuring safe and timely delivery. Drivers MUST have a valid permit to work in Canada at least for 1 year.
- Bonus: New drivers hired in December who remain for 90+ days will earn a performance-based bonus of $500–$1,000.
- Team Driver Pay Range: $0.26 – $0.36 per mile, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and drive semi-truck trailers, tractor-trailers, or other specialized vehicles to transport goods across Canada and the USA.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving in various jurisdictions.
- Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines, considering factors such as traffic conditions, weather, and client requirements.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and cargo, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement and handling of freight.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members to provide updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.
- Monitor and report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues encountered during transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, fuel consumption, miles driven, and delivery documentation.
- Collaborate with team drivers to ensure efficient and safe operation of the vehicle during team driving shifts.
- Follow safety procedures for handling hazardous materials (if applicable).
Qualifications:- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- 10 months experience at least as a semi-truck driver, in long-haul transportation in North America.
- Knowledge of and adherence to transportation regulations, HOS and safety standards in Canada and the USA.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members.
- Physical ability to load and unload cargo, perform routine vehicle inspections, and meet the demands of long hours on the road.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and route planning software. Fleet Hunt knowledge preferred.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, and extended periods away from home for long-haul trips.
- Ability to work independently as a single driver or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility for the safety of oneself and others.
- Ability to handle and transport goods responsibly and securely.
- Valid permit to work in Canada at least for 1 year.
- Valid U.S. VISA (Preferred)
