About this role Join our highly professional, committed and student focused academic community, based at the Bognor Regis Campus. The Lecturer in Games Design and Development will contribute to the BA (Hons) Games Design & Development programme. Lecturers will teach as a member of the teaching team in a developing capacity within an established programme of study and/or across developing areas, with the assistance of a mentor and/or senior colleague if required. About you The appointed postholder will have a wide range of interdisciplinary skills that could include, though not limited to, coding (C# or C++), game engine proficiency (Unity/Unreal), gameplay/systems programming, games design, games theory, and an understanding of industry standard pipelines/workflow. It is essential you have a good understanding of the history and context of the UK games industry and career pathways. This post may suit an industry practitioner looking to start a career in higher education. Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
