About Korean Church of Melbourne (KCM)Korean Church of Melbourne (KCM) is one of Australia's oldest Korean diaspora churches, established in 1973 in Melbourne, Victoria. Affiliated with the Uniting Church in Australia, KCM serves a vibrant multicultural congregation that includes first-generation Korean immigrants, second-generation Korean-Australians, and international students from across greater Melbourne.The OpportunityWe are seeking an ordained, experienced, and spiritually mature Minister of Religion to join our pastoral team at KCM. This is a full-time on-going role that offers the unique opportunity to serve at the heart of one of Melbourne's most established Korean Christian communities.The role involves leading and nurturing a congregation that spans multiple generations — from newly arrived immigrants to third-generation Korean-Australians — across a rich tapestry of ministry contexts.The working location is Malvern VIC. Key Responsibilities• Prepare and deliver biblically grounded sermons and teaching in Korean for weekly Sunday services and mid-week gatherings• Lead and facilitate Bible study groups, prayer meetings, discipleship training, and special services throughout the liturgical calendar• Provide pastoral counselling, crisis support, and spiritual direction to congregation members and their families• Conduct hospital and home visitations for the elderly, sick, and bereaved• Administer the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion and officiate at weddings and funerals• Provide spiritual leadership and mentoring to ministry leaders, deacons, elders, and volunteers• Oversee and support youth, children's, young adults, and English-language ministries (Cornerstone)• Work collaboratively with the Board of Elders and Church Leadership Council to shape the vision and mission of KCM• Engage in community outreach and build partnerships with the broader Korean-Australian community and local organisations• Represent KCM at Presbytery meetings and Uniting Church in Australia denominational gatherings What We're Looking ForEssential:• Bachelor's degree or higher in Theology, Divinity, Ministry, or a related discipline• Ordination or formal recognition as a Minister of Religion by a recognised religious body• Demonstrated experience preaching and leading congregation• Deep understanding of Christian culture and the pastoral needs of diaspora communities• Proven experience providing pastoral care, counselling, and crisis support• At least 3 year’s experienceDesirable:• Postgraduate qualification in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or related field• Experience ministering to intergenerational and multicultural congregations• Familiarity with Australian multicultural community services and immigrant settlement support• Experience with digital/online ministry delivery What We Offer• Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience (meeting or exceeding current TSMIT requirements)• Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa sponsorship for eligible overseas candidates• A warm, supportive, and spiritually vibrant community in one of Melbourne's most liveable suburbs• Opportunity to serve a well-established congregation with a rich 50-year history• Ongoing professional and spiritual development support• Collegial pastoral team environment with strong lay leadership Wage$80,000 - $100,000Applications open on 17/06/2026 and closes on 17/07/2026.If you are interested in this role, apply Now.
