Kitchen Hand

T & J Concepts Pty Ltd is looking for a Kitchen Hand at our Sushi Bar at the Boulevard Shopping Centre in Broome. Our Sushi Bar is a busy, fast paced venue, serving tourists and locals alike. This position focuses on supporting the team by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Primary duties include prepping basic ingredients, preparing sushi for takeaway, keeping a clean environment, and ensuring all workstations meet high hygiene and safety standards, as well as some Front Of House duties. This role is essential for helping the team focus on meal service and ensuring the back-of-house operations run smoothly during busy shifts. Skills & Experience Required Previous Experience: Prior experience in a fast-paced hospitality or retail environment is preferred, though we are willing to train the right candidate with a "can-do" attitude. Food Prep Proficiency: Basic knife skills and the ability to follow simple recipes or assembly guides (e.g., preparing sushi rice, vegetables, and garnishes) with high attention to detail. Efficiency & Pace: Ability to work quickly and stay organized during busy service periods, ensuring all prep stations remain stocked and clean. Hygiene & Safety: A solid understanding of food safety standards and the ability to maintain a spotless workspace, including dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning. Reliability: Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset, with the physical stamina to stay active throughout a shift.
