Full Time Pastry Cook RequiredJoin our growing team!At the Honeycake, we manufacture cakes, pastries and baked goods in our facility based in Fremantle, with shopfronts in the Fremantle markets and Northbridge (for more information about us go to www.thehoneycake.com.au).We are looking for an experienced, reliable, honest, creative and hardworking pastry cook to join our team. Your role will be an integral part of our future.About the RoleResponsible for the dough preparation, baking, cake decorating and presentation of all pastry products within our kitchen and ensuring all goods meet company and food safety standards before serving. The successful candidate will be offered a gross salary $70,000 - $75,000 per annum and will be expected to perform 38 hours of work per week.Position: Full Time PermanentLocation: 12A Norfolk St., Fremantle WA 6160Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Creating cakes, pastries and baked goods by following a set recipe including weighing and measuring suitable ingredients in accurate quantities, preparation and mixing dough and baking, hand rolling the dough and assembling and decorating cakes and pastries to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
  • Packing of cakes, pastries and baked goods for delivery and ensuring all packed goods are properly labelled.
  • Deliver consistent high-quality products – perform quality control prior to packing goods for shopfronts and customers.
  • Selecting appropriate ingredients and equipment and setting up work station.
  • Operating kitchen appliances and equipment.
  • Assisting in managing budgets (Wages and COGs) and maintain stock levels.
  • Ordering new supplies and ingredients for the pastry section, when needed.
  • Assisting in operating and managing the team of bakers whilst enabling a collaborative, progressive and positive work environment.
  • Play an active role in creating new recipes including driving product innovation and development through creating specials, adding new product lines and collaborating with suppliers.
  • Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialised pastry baking tools are in working order.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment, in line with food safety and OHS standards.
  • Ensure all equipment and kitchen utensils are cleaned thoroughly.
  • Preparing work schedules and keeping production records.
  • Completing food preparation, wastage, temperature and other production and food safety reports.
  • Training of new staff, as and when required.

About YouThis position requires a relevant Cert III qualification or at least 3 years demonstrated relevant work experience.
  • You have extensive knowledge in pastries, and preferably with experience in end-to-end product development.
  • You have a flair and passion for preparing and baking pastry products at a consistently high quality.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of pastry baking equipment is a must.
  • Demonstrated consistent industry experience will be highly regarded.
  • Must be fast, efficient and reliable worker.
  • Work well in a team environment with strong collaboration and communication skills.
