About us
Equans Solar & Storage Australia (ESSA) is a company fully owned by the Bouygues Group.
One of the main focuses of the company is developing the Renewable Energies sector by providing high quality services of Engineering, Procurement and Construction, specialized in Utility Scale PV Solar Projects, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
In Australia, all the skills and competences of the Group Bouygues Construction, including those related to the energy sector have been historically offered by Bouygues Construction Australia Pty Ltd – an accredited sponsor for the TSS Subclass 482 visa program dedicated to provide world-class services in building, civil engineering, earthworks and infrastructure throughout Australia employing over 30 Australian citizens and permanent residents with an annual turnover of $836.000.000,00 delivering projects critical to Australia’s economy such as NorthConnex, WestConnex and Melbourne Metro
As part of the same group, ESSA has been collaborating with BYCA for the delivery of 8 utility scale solar farms, totalizing 650 MWp of installed capacity of renewable clean energy (Parkes (NSW), Griffiths (NSW), Dubbo (NSW), Whitsundays (QLD), Hamilton (QLD), Coleambally (NSW), Suntop (NSW) and Narromine (NSW)
In view of the success in the recent years and to reinforce the position in the country, the Group has decided to create a new entity in Australia, as a branch dedicated to exclusively grow and develop the Renewables Energies footprint in the country. In 2022 it was created Equans Solar & Storage Australia. The intention is to keep working together with BYCA for the delivery of Energy Project around Australia, whilst permitting to grow a specialized team able to deliver highest standard of clean energy projects.
The Position
We are searching for a O&M Engineer who will be responsible for:
Key responsibilities:
• Monitor and provide technical support for BYCA’s fleet of North Sydney solar farms – see section Work Arrangements below
• Technical management of subcontractors
• Warranty management of faulty components with equipment manufacturers
• Procurement of spare parts, components and equipment
• Performance reporting to clients and BYCA management
• Site travel as required
Key Characteristics:
• Must be competent in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Independent, organised and self-learning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in report writing
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Experience in HV, SCADA systems, IT, photovoltaics or industrial automation is a bonus
Experience:
• 0-5 years of experience, preferably in PV, electrical or SCADA systems. Graduate applications are welcomed.
Education:
• Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Renewables
Required Skills:
• Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to share technical expertise with team members and the customer.
• Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct the safe operation and maintenance activities of multiple complex projects.
• A hands-on approach to management, a solution-driven mentality, and excellent management skills.
Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s licence
