Summary of PositionWe are seeking a passionate and results-driven Development Officer to join our Development & Fundraising team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the Mission’s fundraising efforts through donor engagement, event planning, and stewardship. This individual will be responsible for managing donor records using DonorPerfect, coordinating fundraising events, and supporting overall development strategies to help sustain and expand our services.

Education· Post-secondary education in Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is required.· A certificate or diploma in Fundraising or Development from a recognized institution (e.g., CFRE, Humber College, or AFP-affiliated programs) is considered an asset.· Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge and Experience Required· Minimum 1 year experience working with DonorPerfect or similar donor management software.· Minimum 2 years experience in event planning, including logistics, sponsorship acquisition, and post-event evaluation.· Minimum 2 years experience in fundraising, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, and donor relations.· Project Management experience is an asset, particularly in coordinating cross-functional teams and timelines.· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).· Passion for community service and a commitment to the values and mission of the Downtown Mission of Windsor.
Skills and Qualities Required· Ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with donors, sponsors, and community stakeholders.· Proven ability to manage multiple projects, events, and deadlines with attention to detail.· Resourceful and innovative in developing new fundraising ideas, campaigns, and donor engagement strategies.· Proficiency in using donor management software (e.g., DonorPerfect) to track, analyze, and report on fundraising performance.· Demonstrates passion for community service and alignment with the values of the Downtown Mission of Windsor.· Ability to convey ideas clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, for effective donor relations, grant writing, and public engagement.· Canadian work experience is not required. Duties and Responsibilities· Utilize DonorPerfect to manage donor information, gift entry, data analysis, and generate reports.· Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and campaigns that align with the Mission’s goals and values.· Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.· Support grant applications and assist with donor communications, including newsletters and appeals.· Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet fundraising targets and expand donor engagement strategies.· Track and analyze fundraising performance and event success metrics.· Represent the Mission at community events and public engagements as needed.· Assist in developing marketing and promotional materials for fundraising initiatives.· Contribute to strategic planning of development initiatives and annual fundraising calendars.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $21.00-$22.00 per hourBenefits:
