Job Description:
The post is an appointment for a 12-month appointment commencing in August 2026, for a Senior Paediatric ENT Clinical Fellow at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. This post is recognised and accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the post holder will receive a certificate recognising this on successful completion of the post.

The Fellow will be expected to lead the junior team overseeing clinical management of inpatients. These include not only the Emergency and elective patients but also a weekly Tracheostomy patient round throughout the hospital.

The post-holder will need to arrange the weekly teaching sessions within the department.

There are timetabled weekly activities including outpatients (3 sessions) and theatres (5 sessions). There are specialist clinics including craniofacial clinic, allergy clinic, Breathlessness and complex airway clinic. The ENT fellow post is EWTD complaint and a Band 2B supplement. The on call is 1 in 7 covering Alder Hey and The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen NHS Trust (Adult hospital) as a second on call.

The hospital is striving to become paperless. Computing skill fluency is essential.

The postholder would be expected to be compliant with work-based assessments. At the end of the placement, the Royal college of surgeons of England would be notified of the successful completion of the fellowship for award of the certificate. A summary of the candidate’s experience will be placed on the digital platform of the college.

Candidates should have the FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent and preferably be within one year of obtaining their CCT. Overseas candidates may apply but will:
