Diesel Mechanic

Adelaide Truck Mechanic is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to start immediately. The company is dynamic, with a spirit of growth and development. They continue to focus on adding value to their loyal customers, while building out new clients across all areas of sales or service! As a result, we are on the lookout for talented individuals with experience in diesel engines.. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines including replacing old mechanical parts and testing after installation
2. Handles engine assemblies and routine repairs, including oil and tire changes, lubrication, steering and transmission components and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
3. Interprets computer diagnostic test results accurately
4. Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans for diesel trucks
5. Train and mentor trainees and apprentices
6. Collaborate with other diesel mechanics
7. Submission of reports and plans for approval to customers
8. Advice on repair options and costs to customers
9. Test drives to ensure the vehicle runs correctly
10. Safe use of electricity, machinery, and hand tools
11. Compliance with all rules and standards of the motor vehicle repair shop
12. Adherence to health and safety regulations

YOU SHOULD DEMONSTRATE:

1. Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic
2. Appropriate trade certification (Cert III or minimum 3 years of experience)
3. A background in diesel mechanics
4. Be a quick thinker
5. Enjoy problem solving and the discovery of solutions to challenges
6. Good time management, organisation, and collaboration capability
7. Have a high degree of integrity
8. Understanding health and safety regulations
9. An ability to build rapport with clients
10. Strong customer service skills
11. An ability to mentor and coach
