Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and skilled
Mechatronics Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. This role involves the design, development, integration, and optimization of mechatronic systems that power our life science products. You will work across mechanical design, electronics, automation, and embedded systems to help us push the boundaries of precision cryopreservation.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechatronic components and systems for cryogenic and bio preservation devices.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and control systems to deliver reliable, high-performance platforms.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and biomedical teams to develop and test new product concepts.
- Program and debug embedded systems and control algorithms, including PID temperature control and real-time data acquisition.
- Contribute to rapid prototyping, product iteration, and technology scale-up activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, schematics, and testing protocols.
- Assist in regulatory compliance (e.g. ISO 13485, GMP) for medical and life science applications.
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing and field deployment of mechatronic systems.
- Participate in R&D projects and contribute to intellectual property development.
Skills and QualificationsEssential:- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering with mechatronic experience).
- 2+ years industry experience in a hands-on mechatronics role (or high-level university project experience for entry-level candidates).
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent), circuit design, and embedded programming (e.g. C/C++, Python).
- Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, motion control, and embedded systems.
- Practical experience in system integration and debugging across hardware/software boundaries.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable:- Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotech).
- Familiarity with cryogenics, thermodynamics, or temperature-sensitive systems.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management processes (e.g. FMEA, DFMEA).
- Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or similar engineering tools.
