This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to and further develop our Mandarin Chinese program within a vibrant, multilingual learning environment.The ideal candidate has a strong background in Chinese literacy and experience delivering evidence-based instruction across multiple subject areas. This teacher will collaborate closely with immersion language teachers (French, Spanish, and English) to support literacy development and reinforce content across languages and disciplines. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Mandarin Chinese to students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 within the Primary School Program.
• Deliver instruction that integrates language development with core subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies, and specials, aligned with the school curriculum.
• Foster the development of foundational literacy, oral language skills, and critical thinking through engaging, age-appropriate, and cross-curricular lessons.
• Apply constructivist, inquiry-based, and hands-on teaching strategies to promote deep learning and student engagement.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for multilingual learners.
• Design and implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs and developmental levels.
• Assess and monitor student progress using both formative and summative methods.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure alignment and continuity of instruction.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience, ideally in a language immersion or international school setting.
• Strong expertise in Mandarin Chinese language development and literacy instruction for young learners.
• Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons within a transdisciplinary curriculum framework.
• Strong understanding of child development and the social-emotional needs of elementary-aged students.
• Excellent classroom management skills and ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Comfortable teaching in mixed-age and multilingual classroom settings.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
