Calling all Band 5s ready to move up a grade or those in Band 6 posts looking for new clinical challenges!
We have an exciting Rotational Band 6 post to work in the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust, one of the largest Trusts in the UK. This post has rotations at Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) and Princess Royal Hospital (PRH).
This post is part of our Band 6 Rotations and you will have the opportunity to gain fantastic experience in all aspects of dietetics including nutrition support and complex enteral feeding.
Rotations include: major trauma, stroke, renal, gastroenterology and medicine. Most, but not all, rotations are based at the RSCH.
RSCH is a brand new hospital in the vibrant city of Brighton with spectacular sea views. PRH has more of a district general feel in the leafy town of Haywards Heath on the edge of the South Downs. Both have good links to London.
We offer supervision and regular in house CPD to support your training and development. Therefore this post offers you fantastic experience & support from the team across many complex dietetic specialities.
We are passionate about training student dietitians, research and audit and have a really robust development programme for you.Informal visits or discussions about the role are very welcome.
For overseas candidates please be fully HCPC registered when applying and be aware we do not offer a relocation package.
Main duties of the job
As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will demonstrate a high level of expertise within a specialist area rotating between: major trauma , acute medicine ,stroke, renal & gastroenterology. Most rotations are at RSCH but PRH is part of the rotation. All roles include one general clinic per week or satellite unit cover.
You will also be responsible for covering the Band 7 dietitians in your speciality during periods of leave.
You will play a key role in the nutritional management of these patient groups and will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals.
In addition you will actively be involved in the trust's clinical governance programme and quality framework agenda by taking lead responsibility for ensuring continuing professional development, audit and research activities within this specialist area.
You will also be involved in supporting junior dietitians and students.
