Visit our instagram for a taste of what we are about @doc_gastronomiaWe are a positioned 100 meters from one of Mornington Peninsulas finest beaches, offering a bustling family-friendly casual dining, accompanied by a mouth-watering Pizza and Restaurant menu, a boutique Delicatessen requiring a head chef influence with readymade meals for our customers to take home.Harnessing old recipes and techniques from regional Italy, the menu takes its cues from the Italian coastline, with a proud nod to Australian producers.We are looking for a head chef to lead the team on a full-time basis. The Head Chef is a hands on role, and will be responsible for all operational processes; management of rosters, food costs, and leading and developing a high performing team.The head chef will also work alongside our deli team to construct a seasonal deli dining menu for both in house consumption and take home. Experience in the Italian cuisine is essential & crucial. The Head Chef Role:

• 3+ years’ experience working in a similar position
• A professional demeanor
• Good communication skills, attitude and be a team player
• High standard of personal hygiene and presentation
• Hard work, diligence and accountability;
• Flexibility and resilience
• Available to work a flexible rotating roster, we are open 7 days a week (lunch and dinner)

Responsibilities:

• Motivate and manage a small team
• Liaise with other venue chefs in the D.O.C group
• Must lead by example
• Effectively and efficiently run a high-volume kitchen, including stock control, ordering and liaising with suppliers
• Experiment and create for new menus while monitoring costing and keeping within budget
