Employer: Heatherdale Automotive Occupation: Senior Technician Job type: Full-time Permanent Salary: Will depend on experience About us Infinity Point Motors is a family-owned business, and we are now expanding our prospects in the automotive repair industry with the addition of Heatherdale automotive under our wing. Heatherdale Automotive is a well-established automotive repair business which has been operating in the Ringwood area for over 20 years. Our fully equipped workshop with advanced diagnostic equipment is conveniently located within walking distance of VicRoads Ringwood. We are looking for a Qualified Roadworthy Technician who will also be responsible to manage our workshop located in Ringwood About the role Some of your responsibilities will include – Manage day-to-day operations of the workshop.
Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults in engines and other components using visual inspections, scanner tools and other tools.
Removing engines and dismantling parts, removing transmissions, cylinder heads, suspensions, steering mechanisms and other components and conducting thorough inspections of dismantled parts.
Fixing and substituting worn or faulty parts, putting mechanical pieces back together, and consulting service manuals when necessary.
Carrying out scheduled logbook services such as oil changes, lubrications with proper inspections including suspensions, brakes, steering mechanisms, tyres. Ensuring vehicles are compliant with current emission regulations.
Reconstructing and reinstalling engines and their various components meticulously after conducting necessary repairs to ensure they are restored to full functionality.
Evaluating and fine-tuning mechanical components following repairs to ensure optimal functioning.
Using computerized equipment to identify issues and evaluate the functionality of vehicle parts.
Vehicle checks are visually conducted to ensure that all vehicles meet the required roadworthy standards. If the vehicle does not conform to all standards, work recommendations will be given
Ensuring the workshop is kept clean
Be able to work unsupervised and under pressure
Time management
Cleaning vehicles for customer pickups when necessary
The successful candidate will bring – Skills and Experience: Must be a fully qualified automotive motor mechanic who is also able to manage the workshop.
Have at least 5-7 years’ experience working in the automotive Industry.
LVT (Licensed Vehicle Tester) accreditation will be an added advantage.
Must have excellent diagnostics skills and be able to rectify & fix mechanical faults
Must be able to service & repair all makes and models of vehicles.
Have good communication skills.
Hold a current, full driver’s license.
