Job Description:
About the Role  Environmental Geochemistry International (EGi) is a world leading Australian consultancy with an enviable technical reputation in mine waste geochemistry. We’re expanding our presence in Western Australia and are seeking a Senior Geochemist to join our growing team in Perth.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a solid foundation in geochemistry and a desire to work on technically complex, multidisciplinary projects. You’ll collaborate closely with your national and local colleagues and contribute to a wide range of national and international projects involving mine waste, acid and metalliferous drainage (ARD/ML), hydrology, and geotechnical assessments.    What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and contribute to geochemical assessments of mine waste and water–rock interactions.
  • Work across disciplines including hydrology, geotechnical engineering, and environmental science.
  • Engage directly with clients and project partners, both locally and internationally.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and interpret complex data sets.
  • Help shape the growth of our Perth office over the next 2–3 years.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in mining or mine waste geochemistry, ideally on active sites.
  • Strong technical background in ARD/ML, water–rock interactions, or related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; self-directed, proactive, and collaborative.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Perth (relocation and visa support available); comfortable in a small, dynamic consultancy environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geology or Environmental Geochemistry is required; postgraduate degrees (Masters or PhD) are highly regarded.

What You’ll Gain
  • Technical Depth: Work alongside experts who helped develop many of the lab techniques now standard across the Southern Hemisphere.
  • Global Exposure: Projects span Australia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Africa—including technically challenging sites in places as diverse as Mongolia, Laos, PNG, and Kazakhstan.
  • Mentorship & Autonomy: One-on-one support from senior colleagues, with the freedom to take ownership of your work.
  • Diverse Project Work: A mix of fieldwork, lab data interpretation, and client-facing consulting.
  • Collaborative Culture: Collegiate, non-hierarchical environment with a focus on learning, initiative, and real-world impact.

How to Apply  Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining why you believe you’re a strong fit for this role. We’re particularly interested in your technical experience, your approach to collaboration, and what excites you about working in a small, high-performing team.  Hit apply or send direct to katemarsh@seedhr.com.au
