Child Care Worker (Full-Time)

Not-for-profit Community Based Centre that is dedicated to actively working with children to build an understanding of their community and culture while making a promise to the land, sky, water, animals and people.The Position: We want to engage with a full-time experienced Child Care Worker / Educator (38hr/wk) that demonstrates a willingness to participate holistically in Early Education and Care and works with integrity, wonder and passion. The pay range is negotiable and based on qualification and experience.

Essential Requirements:

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in an early learning or childcare setting
• Must be able to commit to FULL TIME employment
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (must hold card already)
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
• A passionate educator who can use constructive criticism as a learning platform for professional growth
• A high understanding of the EYLF and NQS and its applications in planning and programming
• A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID004)
• Strong understanding of child safety and safeguarding principles

Desirable:

• Sound knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture and embedding this in practice
• Active approach to Nature Pedagogy and nature walks/Bush Kindy

Responsibilities:

• Provide education and care to children in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
• Implement planned learning provocations aligned with EYLF
• Observe, document, and contribute to assessments of children’s learning and development
• Support children’s daily routines, including meals, rest, hygiene, and transitions
• Maintain compliance with service policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
• Promote child safety, wellbeing, and protection at all times
