Job Brief: Senior Piggery Stockperson Our Australian employer client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Piggery Stockperson to join their team in Australia. As a leader in the agricultural industry, our client pride themselves on providing high-quality products and services to their customers. They are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who shares their values and has a strong background in pig farming.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the daily operations of the piggery, including feeding, breeding, and health monitoring of the pigs - Manage a team of stockpersons and provide guidance and training to ensure the highest level of animal welfare and production standards are met - Maintain accurate records of herd performance, production, and inventory levels - Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the piggery facilities - Work closely with the farm manager to develop and implement herd management plans and strategies - Conduct routine health checks and administer medications as needed - Identify and address any issues or concerns with pig health or production - Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and biosecurity protocols - Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure efficient and effective operations - Monitor and manage inventory levels of feed, supplies, and equipment - Assist with the planning and execution of herd movements and transportation - Keep up-to-date with industry developments and implement best practices to improve herd performance and efficiency Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Certificate in Pork Production, Agriculture, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry and/or higher relevant qualification
• At least 3 years of recent and relevant experience in a medium-to-large commercial pig farm

Other Skills:

• Ability to work with a team and/or independently with less supervision
• Good communication skills
• With a good English test score is an advantage (minimum PTE score 36 or IELTS 5.0)
• Experience in Canada, Japan, Demark, USA and New Zealand is an advantage
• Must have a valid Driver's license
• Strong understanding of pig behavior, health, and nutrition
• Knowledge of industry regulations and biosecurity protocols
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed
